The former manager of Rocky Point Amusement Park still has high hopes of bringing a water park to the Ocean State.

A brand new outdoor water park could be a short drive away if David Cascioli has his way.

Cascioli, who managed Rocky Point for 20 years announced on Facebook recently that he has talked with the mayor of Warwick about possible sites in the city for his dream development.

According to the Warwick Beacon, his goal is to find 20 acres with easy access to the highway where he could develop 15 acres into an outdoor water park and parking and if all proves successful use the other five acres for an indoor water park.

According to Cascioli he has checked out possible locations in Warwick, Pawtucket and even Seekonk. He also says if he finds the right stop and lines up the financing, he could have a water park up and running in 60 weeks.

So would you want to see a water park in Rhode Island? Would you make the trip for his planned 65- and 75-foot water slides?
