A local woman is seeking the public's help in finding a lost engagement ring.

Nina McGoff from Dartmouth says that she lost her solitaire diamond ring last week. She believes she lost it on Monday, November 4. Nina desperately turned to social media to help find the ring.

"Seeking your help!" Nina wrote. "I know this is a long shot but I lost my engagement ring...and after searching our home/yard high and low I am reaching out to you for help!"

Nina says that she lives in Dartmouth and works in Westport. She also says she traveled to Taunton on November 4.

"Please, please...if you found it, know someone who did, come across it in yard sale site please, please return it to the local police department or reach out to me on Facebook," she wrote.

Nina says that she's had a hole in her heart since she lost her ring and that she is praying that it will turn up. She is asking anyone and everyone on the SouthCoast to kindly share this story on their pages in the hopes that someone will recognize it.

As someone who has lost his wedding ring, I can completely relate. I hope Nina has better luck than I did. My platinum wedding band was misplaced more than two years ago, but it has still not turned up even though it has the name of our town and our wedding date engraved inside.

For now, I continue to wear a $10 ring I found on Amazon that resembles my original.
