Twin Mountain, NH - A Dartmouth man is recovering after crashing his snowmobile in New Hampshire Monday.

The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department says Chad Beattie, 38, of Dartmouth, MA, lost control of the rented snowmobile at around 11:30 a.m. Monday as he was riding with a group of friends near Twin Mountain. Fish and Game officials say Beattie's snowmobile went off the trail, down an embankment, and crashed into a tree.

Beattie sustained serious injuries, but was quickly located by his friends and was flown to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon for treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Beattie is a doctor of primary care sports medicine at Hawthorn Medical Associates on Faunce Corner Road in Dartmouth.
