Like a light switch, as soon as the temperature dips, I instantly crave soups, stews and Instapot recipes.

I know I'm not alone, or at least I hope I'm not. Do you start pushing away the cold salads and instead order soup or your favorite protein and veggie bowl?

I totally eat according to the seasons and I always have. All summer long, I would make salads, cold pasta dishes and eats lots of fruits (all cold) like chilled watermelon, pineapple and strawberries. But something pretty magical happens around late September each year. I instantly only want warm foods.

Here are a few of my fall and winter favorites:

Turkey meatballs with a light marinara sauce paired with any type of veggie medley. Low in calories, fat and lots of good carbs and protein.

My homemade chicken kale soup. I use the same recipe but replace the chourice with a rotisserie chicken. Just take the skin off and cut into small pieces. It's so good, my whole family loves it.

A few times a week, I opt for a meatless meal and will use a ton of spinach in that meal so I can up my protein intake. I love butternut whole-grain ravioli over sauteed spinach and could eat this every day if I let myself.

My shrimp, veggie and quinoa bowl is another go-to this fall all winter long. Actually, who am I kidding, I enjoy this dish year-round.

A breakfast go-to of mine all season long is warm oatmeal loaded with crunchy walnuts, vanilla almond milk, a teaspoon of flaxseed, raisins and cinnamon to top it off.

So yummy.😋
