Happy Wet Nose Wednesday! Let's talk about animals.

The love of an animal is the purest form of love there is. It's heartbreaking to think of how many animals are waiting for a place to call home, but thanks to the loving shelters on the SouthCoast, hundreds of animals are in good hands.

But they need a forever family, and that's where we come in. Each week, we aim to connect one animal with one loving family, and this week, we head to New Bedford where an energetic dog is waiting to play.

Meet Raja. Raja is a 50-pound, 2-year-old boxer/husky mix that currently resides at Forever Paws Animal Shelter in Fall River. Raja is an energetic girl that is ready to play at all times.

Raja is great with other dogs, has polite manners, and loves to goof around with the other animals at the shelter.

Raja does very well on the leash and knows several commands, like "sit" and "stay", which is a great foundation to continue her training.

"She is a happy-go-lucky kind of girl that loves toys and loves people," said the shelter. "She has no issues meeting strangers and she's a quick learner who is eager to please!"

Unfortunately, the shelter makes Raja nervous, leading to some hair loss due her to overgrooming and nibbling. But she loves people, and the shelter is confident that she will thrive in the perfect home.

Does Raja sound like a good fit for you and your family? Visit Forever Paws online and click Adopt to download the application. Once complete, email it to fpas1@foreverpaws.com or fax it to 508-677-9175.

Raja cannot wait to meet you.
