This Friday, make sure to help the United Way's Hunger Commission "Stuff The Truck" to fight hunger locally.

If you haven't heard of it before, Fun 107's Stuff The Truck is an event we do with the United Way of Greater New Bedford where people donate non-perishable goods to the truck, which are then distributed to local pantries, soup kitchens, and other organizations.

This year, the Truck will be found in the parking lot of Stop & Shop in Fairhaven from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday Sept. 12. We will also have boxes for food drop offs at Stop & Shop on Faunce Corner Road in Dartmouth, and Dartmouth Street, New Bedford.  Some of the items they need include peanut butter, rice, macaroni & cheese, cereal, tuna fish, pasta, tomato sauce in plastic bottles, and vegetables.

Because of the enormous cost of diapers, you can bring these and other basic baby needs like wipes to the Truck as well. Since W.I.C. benefits don't cover these types of baby items, the United Way has partnered with Diapers n' Things to help deliver the diapers to those in need.

So be sure to join Fun 107 to Stuff The Truck this Friday, and make a difference!
