WWE just won me over with the recent television drama in the ring.

New Bedford's own Samantha Irvin (known around the SouthCoast as Samantha Johnson) has been making huge strides in her high-profile career with WWE as a ringside announcer. She got engaged in January to popular wrestler Ricochet, who recently had a SummerSlam 2023 match against internet influencer and wrestler Logan Paul.

Irvin and Paul now have bad blood that's blowing up on TikTok.

The drama began on July 31 when Paul called out Irvin with the following message, previous to the big fight against Ricochet.

Now that shots are fired, Paul only had one thing left to do if he wanted to back up his smack talk: defeat Ricochet at SummerSlam 2023. Paul even took the time to heckle Irvin ringside during the fight before tossing Ricochet back into the ring.

Unfortunately, this story doesn't have a happy ending at least for Irvin. Paul was crowned the victor, but there was one final announcement that needed to be made. You could see the fire and fury in Irvin's eyes as they locked with Paul's. He stood there, waiting patiently for her to speak six words:

"And the winner is... Logan Paul!"

It was not the outcome she was hoping for.

To make it worse, Paul disrespected Irvin after the match by heckling her from the ring. Upset and angry, you could tell Irvin wanted to ring his bell, but kept it professional and held back.

With "rage" in her eyes, Irvin kept it cool.

Now, I'm not one to casually watch WWE, but when your hometown girl makes a good-sized splash in a rather large pond, I'm all in. I couldn't be any happier for her and Ricochet.

If there's ever a rematch, I have my hopes on Paul losing.
