The road from that connects Fairhaven to the Tinkhamtown section of Mattapoisett finally opened this afternoon.  The road is used by many who travel from parts of Acushnet, Rochester and Mattapoisett to Fairhaven.

Fun 107 reported that the road was shut down over a year ago due to a compromised culvert that made travel dangerous.  Nearby residents were frustrated with the length of time it took for the seemingly modest project to be finished, but were equally overjoyed this afternoon that the road had been re-opened.  It took nearly a year for any significant progress to be made on the project...with the bulk of the construction beginning last month.

Many residents reported a significant increase in gasoline useage, mileage and time wasted due to the road closure.
