Another rainy weekend on the SouthCoast and more popular events brought to a halt.

This weekend's weather is affecting the first Saturday of the family favorite Boo at the Zoo event at Buttonwood Park Zoo.

Luckily this won't be the last chance for local families to enjoy the zoo in costume at the popular New Bedford zoo.

If you were planning to head to Buttonwood on Saturday with the kids dressed up for Halloween, hold on to your prepaid tickets.

The zoo is moving at the Boo at the Zoo events scheduled for Saturday October 21 back one day to Sunday October 22 and all tickets already purchased with be automatically rescheduled to Sunday as well.

However if you have your heart set on being at the zoo on Saturday, Buttonwood Park Zoo will be open for general admission from 9 A.M. until 5 P.M. rain or shine.

Plus there is another full weekend of Boo at the Zoo fun planned for Saturday October 28 and Sunday October 29.

This year Boo at the Zoo features roaming characters throughout the zoo grounds, face painting, crafts and glitter tattoos at various stations plus a mermaid visit in the rainforest building. Plus on Annie and the Natural Wonderland Band will be back to perform on Saturday October 28.

It's a lot of Halloween fun for the little ones and a great way to get more wears out of the short-lived Halloween costumes.

So though the weather is bringing the festive fun to a halt this Saturday, plenty more Boo at the Zoo is coming October 22, 28 & 29th at Buttonwood Park Zoo.
