The Northeast Home and Garden Show – catering to consumers in southeastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and beyond – will open its doors on April 27 and 28 at the Longplex Family & Sports Center, located at 300 Industrial Way in Tiverton.

New Bedford City Councilor and local businessman Ian Abreu and partner Cris Raposo are organizing the show and lining up vendors. Both stopped by Townsquare Sunday this week to give an update.

Most of us remember the Greater New Bedford Home Show, sponsored by the then-New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce at GNB Voc-Tech High School. That event had about a 30-year run before ending in 2019.

As former employee of the Chamber, Abreu worked on many of those shows.

"I knew Cris personally and professionally for a long time, and he's managed many trade shows in his career," Abreu said. "A couple of years (and COVID) went by and Chris and I had a conversation. He said, why don't we pick it up and make it a regional thing, to include all of Bristol County and Rhode Island, and the Cape?"

Abreu said the first Tiverton Home Show last year was well-attended by both consumers and vendors, and they hope this year's will be even better.

The organizers expect to have more than 75 vendors on hand displaying their products, skills and designs all aimed at improving your home and property.

Anyone who attends the show will have a chance to win a 2024 KIA Sorento from Route Six KIA in Swansea, and you can spin a prize wheel to win a free vacation.

The show will also feature gardening shows and cooking demonstrations, along with live music.

Tickets for the Northeast Home and Garden Show are available at northeasthomeshow.com. There's free admission for Tiverton residents.
