Yesterday, I had to stop at the grocery store to get some food, and I didn't have my credit cards on me, just $40 cash. Well, as I saw each item beep across, the total came out to $47.94. Just as I was about to remove $7.94 worth of groceries of my order, someone came to the rescue.

A sweet older woman behind me chimed in as I was saying, "Well, I guess I don't need to get this extra fruit," by saying "Whatever the difference is, I'll pay it." I turned to her and said that she didn't have to do that, but she refused and proceeded to pay the remaining balance so I could walk out with everything.

I thanked her for being extremely nice as she shrugged it off. As I walked to car, I thought to myself, "Wow. She doesn't even know who I am. I can't believe anyone would do that."

I'd like to take this moment to thank her, yet again, and let everyone know that her kindness will be given to someone else that I see who falls into a situation that they need help. Maybe if everyone performed an "act of kindness" from time to time, we'd be a lot happier and maybe even be in a better society.
