NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — New Bedford Police are investigating after a man was shot Tuesday evening in the area of Durfee Court and Linden Street in the city's West End.

According to New Bedford Police Department spokesman Lt. Scott Carola, patrol units responded to a ShotSpotter notification at 11 p.m. Tuesday of shots fired.

First responders were dispatched to the area of Durfee Court and Linden Street where they found an adult male who was suffering from a gunshot wound.

Carola said the man was transported to St. Luke's Hospital for treatment.

He said the victim is expected to recover from his wounds.

The victim’s name has not been released at this time and no arrests have been made in connection to the shooting.

Carola said the investigation is ongoing.
