New Bedford was granted $30,000 to help serve homeless students in coming years.

New Bedford was among 28 districts to receive the grants which Education Commissioner Mitchell Chester says "will help provide homeless students a measure of stability in their lives along with the academic and support services they need to succeed in school”.

These funds will be used locally including tutoring and summer programs. These funds will also be used for community services and collaboration with health providers.

This grant is a great opportunity for our local school system and we will be looking forward to see what the future holds.
