The New Bedford Public Library held a summer reading program this year and they have seen promising results from the event.

The program has brought in about 250 children and has logged almost 2,000 hours of reading.

With hopes of bringing the community together and to encourage reading habits in young children, the library seems to have reached their goals and more.

At the last meeting, parents were encouraged to bring their children back and to spread the news to other families and friends.

The positive impact this program has had on the community can be seen in the kids who have since found a love of reading and story telling as well as having made friends.
