There, I said it for you, just in case you've been thinking the same thing.

I can tell you I've tried sushi almost everywhere here on the SouthCoast. In my opinion, there is excellent sushi at a lot of great restaurants, sure. Turk's has really good sushi, and Azuma in Dartmouth is one of my favorite sushi spots, too.

But after all these years, I think I am ready to say that Market Basket in New Bedford is my current No. 1 when it comes to sushi.

If you are a sushi lover and that shocks you, then you really need to take a ride over and try it for yourself. The variety is large and the sushi is made fresh throughout the morning, afternoon and evening. The sushi chefs are so friendly and eager to please, which makes me appreciate them and their sushi creations even more.

My favorite go-to sushi is shrimp tempura crunchy roll with the spicy drizzle. So good.

A review of the New Bedford Market Basket sushi crew from Sarah says, "The sushi at MB is better than any restaurant in the area. I go between the salmon roll to the cooked tuna roll and will sometimes splurge on one of their daily specials. I've been getting the sushi here since shortly after they opened a few years ago and it is consistently, delicious! The chefs are so friendly and are always preparing fresh choices all day, you'll never get day-old sushi here, it's always fresh. They also serve their selection with a smile and offer you chopsticks and soy sauce too, they now know me by name and I like that type of customer service."
