May 21st Is ‘Red Nose Day’

You may have seen your favorite celebrities and athletes on social media flaunting a new accessory: a red clown nose!  Today May 21st is Red Nose Day, a campaign dedicated to raising money for children and young people living in poverty in the United States and other impoverished communities around the world.

As for the red nose that people have been sporting, well it’s just simply to raise awareness, but you can get your own. Walgreens has joined the cause and you can purchase a red nose while donating to the organization.

The funds raised will be given to 12 different non-profit organizations that help children’s lives in the United States and abroad.  Half of the money raised will be distributed to those causes in the U.S., while the other half will be donated to some of the poorest communities in Latin America, Asia and Africa.

Tonight there is a three-hour TV special on NBC featuring some of the best comedians, musicians, and Hollywood stars. Tune in and check it out at 8/7c.
