Jersey Shore icon Jenni 'JWoww' Farley once ditched the Garden State for a quick visit to Fall River, Massachusetts.

The reality show star appeared at Sky Lounge in Fall River on December 10, 2011. The SouthCoast was buzzing with anticipation for her to show up.

I was 23 at the time and a huge fan of the MTV show. I even did a "GTL" (gym, tan, laundry) before heading to Fall River that night. Little did I know I was in for some disappointment.

My buddy Adam and I purchased tickets for a meet and greet with Ms. Farley and were looking forward to a boys' night out. Sky Lounge was our go-to spot for strong drinks, good company and great entertainment. To this day, I'll always swear by DJ "Dick G" as one of the best in the business.

As we snagged a parking spot, I quickly glanced at my hair in the vanity mirror and spritzed myself with a touch of Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gio. I was all set to meet an idol and a huge crush. I wanted to channel Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, faux hawk and all, just to impress JWoww. I managed a few pushups in the parking lot for a quick chest pump.

We patiently waited in line, eager to get a photo and exchange a few words with the TV star. I should have checked my expectations at the door. By the time it was our turn to meet JWoww, all the excitement had fizzled out of the room.

The atmosphere was off.

She seemed irritated to be there.

The photographer snapped the photo, and that was it. To this day, JWoww's disinterest is extremely noticeable.

I'm not sure if I was heartbroken or what but JWoww hurrying us along was not the experience I had hoped for.

I still watch the show and cheer for the cast, only now with a lingering sour taste from that one night.

While I'd like to say all these years later that meeting her was a terrible experience, I am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she was having a rough day. Even though celebrities are entitled to bad days like the rest of us, they should be mindful of how they treat their fans.

Thirteen years later and that night, that brief encounter, is still etched in my memory.
