If you and your family enjoy a good old fashioned family event to welcome in the arrival of Halloween, look no further.  Nothing gets kids in the Halloween spirit like coming around a bonfire to have fun and hear spooky stories.

The Mattapoisett Land Trust is hosting a fun family event this Saturday night, October 28. Salty's Soiree will feature a bonfire and entertainment from a storyteller who will set a thrilling atmosphere that will keep listeners at the edge of their seats.

Salty's Soiree will take place right by Salty the Seahorse at Dunseith Gardens on Saturday from 5:30 -7:30 p.m.  There will be music, storytelling by the moonlight and a campfire. The Mattapoisett Land Trust will even be supplying ingredients to make your own S'mores. You may want to bring lawn chairs and a flashlight. The weather is looking like it could be very agreeable with an unseasonably warm day and evening.  Finally a weekend free from rain!

Adding to this year's excitement will be the fact that the event will take place under a full moon during Halloweekend.

This is a free event, open to the public. Parking will be available in Mattapoisett Village within walking distance to Salty the Seahorse. While the stories are thrilling, this is definitely a family-friendly event.

The Salty Soiree is just one of the events planned by the Mattapoisett Land Trust in celebration of the organization's 50th anniversary.  The Mattapoisett Land Trust recently gave Salty the Seahorse a facelift and a fresh coat of paint.
