Homicide Investigation In New Bedford Hours After Another

Less than 12 hours after a homicide investigation began on Brock Ave in New Bedford, the city is dealing with another one that occured early this morning on Myrtle Street in New Bedford. Reports indicate that is was a shooting.

Police responded to a 911 call where they found a man suffering from life threatening injuries. He was identified as 23 year old Patrick Alves of New Bedford. He was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
