A New Bedford mom and her son have recently transitioned from a shelter to an apartment, but with little to no furniture or other belongings.

For quite some time,Kim has struggled to maintain stable housing and very basic needs. Her and her 7-year-old son have recently been able to move from a shelter to an apartment but while she was in the shelter, her storage unit was completely cleared out because of her inability to pay the monthly fee. They are in need of very basic household items like bedding for a twin and king bed and living room furniture.

Currently, Mom is going to BCC and hopes to transfer to UMass Dartmouth to work towards a better career, like one with an organization like the United Way. Mom also has some very severe medical issues that not only drive up medical costs, but prevent her from working labor intensive jobs.

Mom goes out of her way to participate in community activities, workshops and any family events that she can bring her 7-year-old son to. She tries to remain positive and active but is worried that she won't be able to furnish their new apartment or provide her son with gifts for the holidays as he has never been able to have a big Christmas.

Basic Wish List:

7-year-old boy: Size 8 pants and shirts, size 2 shoe - loves Minecraft, action heroes, Nerf guns, Legos and is in need of winter clothing.

If you are interested in helping, listen to their full story on the Rock and Fox Show and call in or text WISH to 313131 and follow the instructions to donate.
