Holiday Recycling Guide

New Bedford Recycling Center has announced details for their post-holiday pick ups!

1. Drop-Off Recycling Locations for Styrofoam Blocks and Single Stream Recycling:

Stop by 1`of 3 locations and drop off your styrofoam blocks and single stream recycling. The drop-off will take place on Saturday, December 27th, 2014 & Saturday January 3rd, 2015, 7:30am - 3:00pm.

Locations:

• East Rodney French Boulevard beach lot, between Hudson Street & Seymour Street
• Shawmut Avenue Transfer Station, 1103 Shawmut Avenue
• Brooklawn Park, near Pony League Field, enter at Irvington Street

2. Curbside Christmas Tree Collection

Christmas trees will be collected curbside during the week of Monday, January 12, 2015, through Friday, January 16, 2015. All trees should be placed curbside on the day after trash and recycling collection.

Friday route will be collected on 1/12/15.

Please take all ornaments, stands, lights, tinsel and bags off of the trees before dropping them off.

3. Christmas Tree Drop-Off Locations

Starting December 26th, Christmas trees can be dropped off at the following locations:

• East Rodney French Boulevard beach lot, between Hudson Street & Seymour Street
• Shawmut Avenue Transfer Station, 1103 Shawmut Avenue
• Brooklawn Park, near Pony League Field, enter at Irvington Street

Please take all ornaments, stands, lights, tinsel and bags off of the trees before dropping them off.

4. Recycling Strings of Christmas Lights

Strings of Christmas lights can be recycled at the Shawmut Avenue Transfer Station, 1103 Shawmut Avenue. Place them in the scrap metal container.

Call 508 979 1520 for hours.

Do not place strings of lights in your recycling cart.

Another option is to recycle them at Lowe's in Dartmouth.
