If you've always wanted to own a historic theater, it seems one is available in Rhode Island. But exactly what you'll pay for it is a bit of a mystery.

In a recent listing by MG Commercial Real Estate, Cranston's nearly 100-year-old Park Theater has been placed on the market, but the sale price is currently listed as "not disclosed."

The news is slightly shocking, since it was not even two years ago that the current owners, Ed Brady and Jeff Quinlan, were announcing extensive renovations and a grand re-opening plan to bring the long standing theater back to life.

They did in fact bring the theater back after it closed during the pandemic and celebrated that grand re-opening at the end of summer 2022.

Now, a little over a year later, Brady and Quinlan are trying to sell though the why remains purely speculation.

Recently the pair have been trying to obtain funding through Rhode Island's Learn365RI education initiative to turn the Park Theater into an after-school learning site. That potential grant funding for more renovations at the theater seems to be going nowhere, which may be why the owners have turned to listing the historic theater.

The new owners would get an updated, turn-key theater to call their own. According to the property listing the theater not only contains the 1,015 seat venue, but also the A/V, lighting system, dressing/makeup rooms, green rooms along with three function areas and a commercial kitchen.
