There'll be another round of restaurant closings for the Friendly's ice cream chain.

Times are apparently still tough for Friendly's with the company announcing 23 more restaurant closings in the Northeast.

The Massachusetts-based ice cream maker sent a letter to franchisees on Monday to let them know which locations would stay and which would go.

And I am happy to say neither Darmouth nor Fall River are on that list.

All the delicious ice cream sundaes, tasty burgers and amazing breakfasts will still be served up here on the SouthCoast. Even delivered to you from the Fall River location.

Other Massachusetts locations did not fare so well. Waltham, Holden and the Framingham on Temple Street restaurants are closing. As are locations in Maine, two in New Hampshire, three in Connecticut and 14 throughout upstate New York.

Clearly upstate New Yorkers are not that into Friendly's.

Friendly's has closed about 70 locations after filing for bankruptcy in 2012.

Things seemed to turn around a bit for the ice cream chain, but I guess more rough times are upon them leading to more restaurant closings.

For now nothing close to us is going away, so if you do enjoy Friendly's food and ice cream, get it while you can cause I guess you never know when more restaurants could go.
