Apparently, forever was too much to ask.

On the heels of the announcement that the chain would be closing roughly half of their locations nationwide after Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection had been filed, Dartmouth's Forever 21 store has received word that they are on the list.

Forever 21 was a flash in the pan at the Dartmouth Mall, eeking out a year of business (at best) at the location.

We spoke to the store manager at Forever 21, who confirmed that Dartmouth store was one of the stores that would be closing. When asked if she thought if the store would most likely be opened through the holiday season, Heather told us that she just wasn't sure. The company has not given the Dartmouth location a timeline of when they expect to close their doors at the mall.

We were a little surprised to hear the news considering that there are no Forever 21 locations remaining in Rhode Island and the closest current location is in North Attleboro. This leaves a fairly large area of a populous state without a Forever 21 location.

The plan is for the company to close 178 stores in the United States along with almost all of its stores in Europe and Asia.

We suggest if you have any gift cards or if you are a super big fan of the Forever 21 fashion, you'd better get to the Dartmouth Mall sooner than later.

We predict that the Dartmouth location will close up shop sometime after the first of the year. Then again, what do we know? We didn't think Dartmouth would be on the dreaded list!
