A woman was attacked and threatened at knife point at an attempted carjacking in Fall River.

According to Herald News the victim said two assailants approached her, demanded a ride, then smashed her driver’s side window and assaulted her. She was threatened at knife point and punched in the head by the attackers on Slade Street in Fall River.

Fall River police Officer John Deschenes responded to the 911 call around 12:10 a.m. Monday. The victim, who was in tears and visibly shaken, flagged him down near Cliff’s Car Wash at 364 Bedford Street.

The woman told the officer that she was inside her vehicle, smoking a cigarette, when she heard a tapping sound. When she turned to her left she saw two black men with their faces partially covered. She said one of the men ordered the woman to open her doors because he needed a ride. When she refused, the assailant smashed her window with a knife and began stabbing the inside of the car door. He also punched the woman on the side of her head and threatened to kill her. When the woman began to drive away the armed assailant reached back into the car and grabbed the woman’s hair, but he let go as she kept driving.
