Fall River Officer Injured During Altercation With ATV Drivers

FALL RIVER (WBSM) — A Fall River police officer was injured on Saturday following an altercation with ATV drivers.

The incident happened around 1 p.m. on December 16 when the officer stopped two people illegally operating off-road vehicles on Highland Avenue.

The two drivers allegedly resisted arrest and fought with the officer, knocking him to the ground.

The officer suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and Fall River Police are investigating and attempting to locate the ATV drivers.
