Tragedy struck the pop star on Saturday as Bruno's 55 year old mother passed away due to a brain aneurysm in a Honolulu, Hawaii.

This information was according to a publicist for Mars' label, Atlantic Records, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to speak on the record.

Mars is set to resume touring on June 22, but it was not immediately clear whether the concert schedule would be affected by his mother's death.
