Due to lack of memberships and declining sales, the 3 local Sam's Clubs in our area will be closing their doors come February.

The warehouse locations in Seekonk, Warwick and Fall River closed for just the day last Friday but will close for good on February 5th.

Fall River's new Mayor Jasiel Correia says this is a "sign of the times" and that his "main concern is for the displaced workers and our first priority is to assist them in any way possible, which we have already taken steps to do."

Sam's Club is owned by the Wal-Mart Corporation which is also shutting down 269 locations this year.
