My two boys are slime experts.  Me?  Not so much.  I would not know what to look for when purchasing slime for them, which I have, several times by the way...  It's been brought to my attention that SLIME can be hazardous, you've got to be careful with which kind you buy or make homemade for your kids.

A mother to a 12 year-old daughter obsessed with slime is warning other moms about the home remedies you can use to make slime.

On thistalkaintcheap.com, a mother is warning people to have their kids stay away from homemade slime as it can be dangerous.

She talks about how all of a sudden, her daughter (who never gets sick) ended up with a cough, sore throat, stuffy nose, and headaches. At first, she thought nothing of it as it was just common cold symptoms, but they never went away. When the doctor found nothing, that's when it dawned on her that it could be the homemade slime making their child like this.

Their slime consisted of ingredients like:

  • white glue
  • borax
  • water
  • shaving cream
  • food coloring

When she started her investigation she found that glue fumes can cause:

  • headaches
  • anxiety
  • nausea
  • runny nose
  • dizziness
  • loss of appetite
  • low oxygen level

Needless to say, that mom took her daughters homemade slime and chucked it!  I am happy I came across this article or I would have NEVER known!  Be careful when going it alone and mixing up your own homemade slime for the kids. Thank you thistalkaintcheap :)

Please be aware of what your children are playing with and what DIY's they're finding on the internet.
