It was probably not the way this mother expected her daughter to enter the world, but the healthy baby girl was delivered early Wednesday morning in the back of an ambulance.

The Attleboro Fire Department took to their new Facebook page to tell people of the early morning delivery inside the back of an ambulance on Wednesday.

According to the post, firefighters Ryan Bielawa and Cameron Eames responded to a call about a woman in labor on Peck St in Attleboro around 3:45 a.m.

En route to the hospital it must have been obvious the baby wasn't waiting any longer because Bielawa and Eames helped deliver the newborn girl right there in the back of the ambulance.

They then continued on to Sturdy Memorial Hospital where both mother and daughter were said to be doing well.

Bielawa has been with the Attleboro Fire Department for two years and Eames for three years.

For both firefighters, this was their first time delivering a baby.

As Chief Scott T LaChance put it,

Some firefighters go their whole careers without delivering a baby, so I'm sure that this is something they will never forget.
