Just when I thought I met my match regarding local bar specials, one Portuguese restaurant took the drink specials to the next level.

On Wednesday, November 2nd, I broadcasted LIVE from Cafe Mimo on Acushnet Avenue. You may not know this about the staple Portuguese restaurant, but low and behold, they are the originators of the Mozambique sauce that blankets just about every other Portuguese restaurant here on the SouthCoast and beyond. Please take my advice, and ask for the creamy style of Mozambique, it's almost like a hollandaise for chicken and shrimp.

Let's focus on the matter at hand- the boozy concoction that you won't find anywhere else. If you're a fan of green tea shots, then you'll certainly want to order this. It's called the "tea flight" and you'll get not one, but three full-size drinks (rather than just a shot), each one a representative of the tea family.

From left to right- We begin with the classic green tea mix: a combination of Jameson whiskey, peach schnapps, sour mix, and a splash of lemon-lime soda (i.e. Sprite or Sierra Mist). The middle drink was by far, in my opinion, the best one of the bunch- the "sweet tea". Made primarily of Deep Eddy Sweet Tea Vodka mixed with sweetened iced tea, the sugar rim compliments the tasty concoction very well. Finally, there's the popular "Long Island" which is self-explanatory and extremely boozy.

The cost for this flight goes for $18 and at $6 a drink, you're certainly getting your money's worth. I would suggest sharing this flight, or if not, making sure you have an Uber or a designated driver on standby. It's a hefty flight that's guaranteed to lift you off the ground in the most relaxing way.

As always- please drink responsibly, my friends. Must be 21+ to order.

7 SouthCoast Bars That Could Benefit From an Escalator Over Stairs

Stairs are wonderful, but sometimes you just need a good escalator -- especially at a bar where, well, you might not be so steady on your feet. Here are seven local picks for such a swap.
