In addition to making sure you exercise most days of the week for at least 30 minutes each day, you'll have to be willing to focus on good nutrition to keep your heart healthy...

I've put together a quick list of 5 foods you should avoid or completely remove from the lists of food you will eat.  These foods are processed, cause inflammation and if consumed continuously cause high risk for artery and heart disease.  Of course, genetics do play a roll in all of this but it's recommended by most cardiologists and the American Heart Association, to focus and follow a healthy nutritional diet.

So here they are...5 foods to stay away from to help you avoid heart health problems

1. Soda.  It's loaded with sugar, 22 teaspoons worth in one 12 ounce bottle!  Not to mention, if you read the ingredients I'll bet you can't pronounce half of what's actual in that soda.  That's scary.

2. Margarine.  Even just 1 teaspoon spread on your toast is loaded with saturated and polyunsaturated fats.  What are they?  Artery clogging, that's what!

3. Fried Foods.  They are know to increase your risk of heart or artery disease because of the high saturated fat content.  An occasion french fry here and there is not going to do damage, but overtime if consumed daily, your risks go up.

4. Limit Simple Carbs.  Think white...pasta, white rice, potato chips... Although a white potatoe is all natural and a very clean it is LOADED with simple carbs, which add up and don't allow a typical, even somewhat active person, to burn them off in a days time.

5.  Cakes, cookies and candy.  Obviously, these would be hard to avoid FOREVER, but if you limit them to special occasions only and remove these foods from your everyday lifestyle, you'd be in a much better place, nutritionally.
