Attleboro police have charged the boy with attempted murder, home invasion, kidnapping, assault with intent to murder, intimidation of a witness, operating a motor vehicle without a license, and assault and battery on a person over 60, causing injury.

He'll be arraigned in Taunton Juvenile Court. His name was not released because of his age. Police say the teen broke into the woman's home at about 10 p.m. last night, and stabbed her several times. They say he then drove her in her car to a nearby pond near Seekonk where he tried to drown her. When that didn't work, police say the boy drove her to another location and tried to asphyxiate her by plugging the cars tailpipe.

The woman managed to get free and drove herself to Sturdy Memorial Hospital. She has been transferred to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. The 15-year-old boy was arrested this morning at his home.
