Wareham High School's business organization, DECA has taken a huge step for the town's high school.

Every student that has a job, savings account, or looking to get loans in the future needs a bank. The Plymouth County Teachers Federal Credit Union has made the decision to bring the bank, to the students.

Wareham DECA is a business organization that teaches students bout the professional world atmosphere. They host an annual Home Show, Auction and compete in an international competition. Recently they have been looking for a way to enhance the profit and attention brought to the school store.

This week it was announced that the PCT Federal Credit Union will be renovating Wareham High's school store 'The Ship' by knocking down a wall to make room for two teller windows and installing the long awaited internet bar that was planned by students last fall.

This is such a great idea for High Schools, students tend to keep the same bank throughout their entire life and opening a bank in a high school is a great way to establish a relationship with your bank at a young age.

The bank will provide a teller for the designated open hours at the school but the arrangement is that the High School will also be able to provide over 12 interns. This will give DECA students an opportunity to work inside of a bank and graduate high school with the ability to get a job as a bank teller.

The renovations are planned to be finished by October 1st so that The Ship can become up and running again.
