‘The Voice’ Recap: Top 8 Revealed, Christina Aguilera Sings ‘Let There Be Love’
Tonightâs episode of the âThe Voiceâ (Nov. 20) was pivotal and epic, determining which 8 contestants are safe in the running for the ultimate victory. The show kicked off with an energized performance by Team Christina of âLet There Be Love,â a track from Christina Aguileraâs brand-new album, âLotus.â Sylvia Yacoub, Dez Duron and Aguilera herself rocked the stage and got the crowd pumped and ready for the nightâs exciting events.
It’s up to America to decide which singers remain based on last nightâs performances, and while this obviously made the judges a little nervous, they seemed to be taking it all in stride. âItâs way out of my control at this point,â said judge Cee Lo Green. âBut as long as theyâre happy, then I can support that, and I can encourage them to grow.â
The episode also featured snippets from recent confessionals, revealing quirky tidbits about contestants and coaches alike. For instance, did you know that Nicholas David wears two pairs of glasses at a time, or that Adam Levine is routinely mocked for his t-shirt obsession?
A wide range of talent was celebrated tonight, including an appearance by country superstars Rascal Flatts. Accompanied by Team Blakeâs Cassadee Pope and Team Cee Loâs Cody Belew, the group sang âChanged,â the title track from their latest studio release. (In case Popeâs rendition of âOver Youâ during last nightâs episode didnât convince you that the girl was born to sing country, then maybe tonightâs performance helped!)
Later in the evening, Levine took the stage with his teamâs remaining contestants: Melanie Martinez, Bryan Keith and Amanda Brown. The quartet delivered a rocking version of Queenâs âCrazy Little Thing Called Love,â during which Levine was sure to show off his wealth of impressive tattoos.
To wrap things up, the members of Team Blake and Team Christina joined up to perform âHit Me With Your Best Shotâ by Pat Benatar.
Elimination rounds are always bittersweet, but tonight’s show still managed to be upbeat and entertaining. Check below for the list of singers who will be moving on, as well as those who were unfortunately sent home.
