No, I hadn't been drinking before my wife and I were seated in a booth at Riccardi's last night. Just as I sat down, the hiccups began. They were loud, and it was embarrasing to see the other patrons look my way and smile. As I waited for our server so that I could request a glass of water, I tried holding my breath. That didn't work.

I then remembered a cure from my grandmother. So I grabbed a packet of sugar, poured it into a spoon, and quickly ate the sugar. No luck. I did the holding the breath thing one more time, and just before I passed out, the hiccups stopped.    When I mentioned this on the FUN Morning Show this morning, the phone lines lit up with cures.

Take a listen.

Here are some more remedies.
