A Taunton woman was arrested after allegedly kicking, punching and cursing at police officers who were trying to remove her from a one-year-old's birthday party.

The Taunton Gazette reports that 26-year-old Brittany Wetherell was drunk at the baby's birthday party last Saturday and became belligerent, causing problems for those inside the Davis Street apartment trying to enjoy the festivities.

Police were called to the scene to remove her and things escalated from there.

She stood in the pouring rain in just her bra

Officers say Wetherell became combative with police as soon as they arrived, cursing and kicking at officers.

They tried to take her into protective custody, but Wetherell pulled away causing her shirt to rip. She then tore the rest of her shirt off completely and stood in the pouring rain in just her bra.

Police ended up having to taser her

Officers say she also kept slipping in the mud and ended up covered, making it even more difficult to get a grasp on her.

Police ended up having to taser Wetherell, which they say only slowed her down and she quickly began kicking and cursing again, even punching at officers.

Eventually Wetherell was arrested and charged with three counts of assault and battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

She has been arraigned and is due back in court December 3.
