TAUNTON (WBSM) — An arrest has been made in connection to Friday morning’s homicide in Taunton that claimed the life of a 33-year-old man.

The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office announced that Dustin Humanes, 36, of East Taunton was arrested this afternoon in Fall River and has officially been charged with the murder of Alvaro J. Andrade of Taunton.

In addition to the murder charge, Humanes is also charged with carrying an illegal firearm and carrying a loaded illegal firearm.

Taunton Police responded to a 911 call regarding shots fired in the area of 188 Winthrop Street (Route 44) at about 7:50 a.m. Friday. First responders arrived to find Andrade sitting in the driver’s seat of Jeep Grand Cherokee parked in the driveway of the home. He had sustained gunshot wounds and was rushed to Morton Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 9:03 a.m.

The D.A.’s Office said Humanes will be held in jail through the weekend and arraigned Monday in Taunton District Court.

An internet search shows a Dustin Humanes of the same age has previous arrests including shoplifting incidents from a Taunton CVS in 2008 and Colony Place in Plymouth in 2011. In 2009, he pled guilty to a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, a shod foot. He also had an arrest for possession of a Class C substance in 2018.
