A fresh face of cuteness has arrived in the Rainforest at Roger Williams Park Zoo.

Zoo staff announced the arrival of a baby Linne's Two-Toed sloth today, making it second baby form to parents Fiona and Westley.

Back in 2020 the zoo's adult two-toed sloths welcomed their first child, a girl eventually named Beany, and now another pup has arrived at the zoo and staff are thrilled.

In a recent Facebook post the zoo shared picture of the sweet, new face along with a shot of the pup drinking from a teeny, tiny bottle.

The baby's sex has not yet been revealed and the name has not been chosen either. Though the zoo says to keep close to their socials to hear more about their newest arrival.

Perhaps the most important part of their new baby however, is how it helps to grow the Linne's Two-Toed sloth population in the world.

These sweet, slow moving creatures have seen their numbers decline in the wild as the world's rainforests are depleted. With habitats disappearing, sloths are disappearing too.

This new Roger Williams Park Zoo birth is fantastic news for their Linne’s Two-Toed Sloth Species Survival Plan, which focuses on breeding to ensure the survival of a species.

Currently zookeepers and veterinarians are keeping a watchful eye over mom and baby to ensure their well-being as they bond behind-the-scenes, so zoo guests probably won't be seeing Fiona out and about in the rainforest building for a few weeks.

No word on when the new baby will make her exhibit debut, but when she does you'll need to search for her on her mom's back since baby sloths stick by their mothesr for much of their first year.

For now we have these few adorable photos of the new baby to ooh and aah over.
