“Sesame Street,” the long-running PBS series, will air on HBO starting this fall.

According to Scripps Media.com, PBS stations will still air “Sesame Street” episodes free for the first nine months when they are on HBO.

Throughout the past few years, Sesame Workshop has lost millions of dollars, and HBO will be able to help with the format of the show’s content.

Jeffrey Dunn, CEO of Sesame Workshop, stated that the losses just keep on getting bigger and bigger.

18 new episodes will be produced by Sesame Workshop, and this deal will boost production to 35 episodes a season.

Sesame Workshop also announced that it will produce a spin-off series based on the show and to develop a new series for children.
