Buttonwood's Red Tegu named Rosie was found roaming the streets of Falmouth before she was picked up by local animal care and control.

Rosie is the beloved Tegu who loves to soak up the sun... She was actually found wandering the streets of Falmouth before being brought to safety by Animal Care and Control.   She was then adopted by The Buttonwood Park Zoo where she is the queen of her castle, so to speak.

Red Tegu's are sometimes sold as pets when they are young and small, but can grow to nearly four feet long. Sadly, most of the time Tegu's are released which can be dangerous to them and local wildlife.

Rosie now has a forever home at the Buttonwood Park Zoo and is an important partner of the Zoo's Animal Ambassador Program.
