If you are looking for a job...there's a job opening at Fenway Park.

The Red Sox have fired manager Bobby Valentine.

The Red Sox season mercifully ended last night in the Bronx when they lost their 93rd game of the season. It was one of the worst seasons in Red Sox history (their worst record since 1965).

The Red Sox haven't fired a manager after only one season since 1934.

You've got to think that even Valentine is relieved. I wonder if he even fought for his job? Valentine met with Red Sox brass today, and President and CEO Larry Lucchino said he took the bad news with "great class and dignity".

So now the question becomes...who will be Valentine's replacement? John Farrell from the Blue Jays? Will they take another look at Gene Lamont? Or will it be someone no one is thinking of? Whomever it is, he will be the third Red Sox Manager in 3 years.
