The Boston Globe is reporting that if you're one of the three households for every 10 in Massachusetts that heat your home with oil, you're set to make a big time savings this winter.

Thanks to the plunge in oil prices the Energy Information Administration has announced that households that use oil to heat their homes will save $632, over the course of the winter. Massachusetts homes, which have a higher rate of oil-heated homes compared to the rest of the nation, should be excited about the news.

While natural gas and electricity prices are on the rise and oil prices are trending down there is set to be a switch up in prices from recent years.

The report shows that the average price of a gallon of heating oil was down to $3.20 this past week. That's a 72 cent decrease from the same time last year.
