Original Gerber Baby Turns 90

Ann Turner Cook, who is the baby face of Gerber turned 90 recently.

Cook was born November 20, 1926. Gerber put out a contest in 1928 to find a baby picture to be the face of Gerber baby food. According to Fox 13, Cook's next door neighbor and artist Dorothy Hope Smith drew a sketch of Ann and judges fell in love with it.

Instead of turning the sketch into an actual photo of Ann Turner Cook, Gerber wanted to keep it as a drawing. Now, that sketch is recognized all over the world.
