Toy-maker TY has announced a new Beanie Baby named “Cecil the Lion” to raise money for animal conservation efforts.

The toy is named in honor of the lion Cecil. Last month, Cecil was killed by Walter Palmer, an American dentist and sports hunter.

Cecil was lured off of protected land and shot with a bow and arrow before slowly dying. The majestic lion’s horrific death has led to a worldwide uproar.

The only bright side in the whole horrible event is that it has raised awareness and money for animal conservation.

Ty Inc. CEO Ty Warner said Monday that the company hopes the Beanie Baby will raise awareness for animal conservation and "give comfort to all saddened by the loss of Cecil."

Ty said all profits from "Cecil the Lion" sales to retailers will go to the Wildlife Conservation Research Unit of the University of Oxford in England. The toy will go on sale at the end of September for $5.99.

100% of the profits from Cecil will be donated to the Wildlife Conservation Research Unit.
