New Bedford area youth played a few football scrimmage games with some pros Friday.

The New England Patriots Alumni Club brought former Patriots players to New Bedford's Andrae Mccoy Stadium, teaching kids about football and providing them with valuable life lessons as well.

Hall of Fame linebacker Steve Nelson says a lot can be learned from the sport, "How you play. How you compete. How your sportsmanship is primary and everything else. But we're here to celebrate football, I guess is what we're here to do, and all the good things that come from playing football."

After teaching kids the fundamentals of football, Nelson provided them with his testimony of how football positively affected his life.

Over 100 children took part in the "Football for YOU" football clinic. It was the first time the Patriots Alumni Club held a clinic in New Bedford.
