Two New Bedford men have been arrested in connection with an early morning tire theft.

Around 2am Wednesday morning, officers were called to the area of Grape and Oak Street in the South End regarding two males stealing tires from a Honda Accord. When police arrived, they found the car resting on milk crates with two tires missing.

A witness provided a description of the suspects and their vehicle to police, who soon stopped a car matching that description in the West End. In the rear of the vehicle were the two tires stolen from the South End. They were returned to the owner.

Police arrested the two suspects, identified as 18-year-old Brett Silva and 19-year-old Kelvin Trinidad, both of New Bedford. They have both been charged with larceny exceeding $250 and malicious destruction of a motor vehicle.
