New Bedford Police Investigating After Man Shot in West End

NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — A man is reportedly in stable condition following a shooting Wednesday night in New Bedford's West End.

New Bedford Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation at around 11 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Chancery Street and Middle Street.

Police said that upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim had allegedly been shot. Detectives also arrived on the scene to further investigate the incident.

Police reported that the victim, whose name has not been released, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and is currently in stable condition.
