On Wednesdays, Fun 107 is all about the animals.

There are hundreds of animals on the SouthCoast patiently waiting for their forever family, and we hope that by sharing their stories, one less animal will live out their lives in a shelter.

This week, we head to Lighthouse Animal Shelter in New Bedford to meet a 2-year-old puppy that is full of life.

Meet Copper. Copper is a 2-year-old Redbone Coonhound mix, and he is the entire package.

“He's incredibly good-looking and is an intelligent guy,” described the shelter.

Copper is very food motivated and already knows how to sit and lay down.

“He should learn new things pretty quickly when there is food involved,” said Lighthouse.

Copper would make a great adventure buddy, just be prepared for him to stop and smell absolutely everything.

When he first arrived at the shelter, he wasn’t sure how to play with toys, but now he loves to chase tennis balls and run around in the play yard.

“While he enjoys zooming around the yard with our volunteers, we often catch him relaxing and sunbathing and will welcome cuddles,” said the shelter.

He will need an adopter who is comfortable handling a large dog as he is a big, strong boy.

Cooper loves being with other dogs and loves playtime, and he would do best with dogs that match his energy level.
