Another round of snow is expected to hit the Southcoast this afternoon into tonight, probably affecting your ride home from work.

ABC6 meteorologist Jeff Desnoyers is calling for up to three inches along the Southcoast, Cape and Islands...so when will it hit?

Snow showers are predicted to hit New Bedford and surrounding areas around 5 p.m. and the storm will be moving south to north, leaving inland areas with later snow showers and less accumulation.

According to Desnoyers the snow will be light and fluffy, but the freezing temperatures aren't helping us. The ground will be cold enough to make all this new snow stick immediately.

That means the roadways will be slick as soon as the snow starts, making another commute this week a little dangerous.

The snow will be here and gone however, ending around midnight and not affecting the weekend at all.

Still with the worst of it coming around drive time on a Friday afternoon, you will want to give yourself extra time and make sure you are paying attention on your ride home tonight.

And if you plan on heading out for some Friday night fun, expectations are for the snow to be coming down at it's heaviest between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.
